Cancer has become a worldwide challenge, and cancer prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation have been drawing widespread attention. To face this challenge, conventional treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been playing a dominant role as the standard treatment protocols with fairly unsatisfactory results. On the contrary, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) including hyperthermia and natural therapies have showed particular efficacy in treating cancer and various other intractable chronic diseases. In addition, many CAM treatments are significantly less toxic and expensive. Relevant studies have indicated that results with non-toxic integrative cancer treatments are more promising than with conventional treatments. For instance, the retrospective clinical review of Keith Block demonstrates a 38-month overall survival in stage IV breast cancer vs. 20 months at a conventional clinic.

Professor Dr. Clifford L. K. Pang, a well-known expert in integrative oncology, was pleased at the latest development in CAM as demonstrated by the conference. “We are very pleased to see that CAM has been gaining more recognition,” Said Dr. Pang. “Non-toxic integrative cancer treatment represented by hyperthermia has completed conventional oncology. It is less toxic and expensive, and should lead to a brighter future for cancer patients.”
