Having been working at E.N.T. in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University for many years, Dr. Chai possesses strong diagnostic and therapeutic expertise in common and complicated E.N.T diseases, especially in the surgical treatment of head and neck tumors (such as all types of laryngeal cancer, pharyngeal cancer, neck mass and fistula); obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) (commonly called snoring); and minimally invasive surgery for sinusitis and nasal polyps and tumor. She also has strong expertise in functional and minimally invasive surgeries of the throat.

Main research directions: Gene therapy for laryngeal cancer and comprehensive study on OSAHS.

Scientific researches and awards:

Medical Progress Award granted by Department of Education of Guangdong Province and Guangdong Health and Family Planning Commission for a series of researches on etiology, diagnosis and surgical treatment of cancers in nasal cavity and paranasal sinus. Totally he has published 23 research papers and was listed as the first author in 13 of them.
