Minimally Invasive — Function & Rehabilitation

Led by Prof. Zhixiang Jian, a renowned hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery expert, the department encompasses six subspecialties: hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal, thyroid, hernia/abdominal wall reconstruction, vascular, and burns. Equipped with advanced precision instruments, we adhere to minimally invasive, precise, function-preserving, and ERAS-driven surgical principles, ensuring a streamlined, efficient care experience from diagnosis through rehabilitation.

Hepatobiliary Surgery

The department performs laparoscopic resections for hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and splenic tumors, splenectomy, and biliary stone removal, with expertise in fluorescence-guided hepatectomy, complex liver cancer procedures, and single-port cholecystectomy.

Gastrointestinal Surgery

Committed to function preservation and quality of life, the department offers laparoscopic radical gastrectomy and colorectal cancer resection, with extensive experience in sphincter-preserving surgery for ultra-low rectal cancer and minimally invasive bariatric procedures.

Thyroid Surgery

Focusing on precision, minimally invasive techniques, function preservation, and cosmetic outcomes, the department offers minimally invasive and radical thyroid cancer surgeries, as well as thermal ablation for thyroid nodules. Intraoperative nerve monitoring is routinely used to protect recurrent laryngeal nerve and parathyroid function, with standardized long-term follow-up for continuous care.

Hernia and Abdominal Wall Surgery

Specializing in minimally invasive repair with low recurrence rates, the department offers laparoscopic procedures for adult hernias—particularly effective for recurrent and complex abdominal wall hernias—and mini-laparoscopic techniques for pediatric cases, ensuring less trauma and faster recovery.

Vascular Surgery and Burns

The department provides diagnosis and treatment for peripheral vascular diseases, superficial masses, and burn/scald wound repair.

Our internationally trained surgical team utilizes state-of-the-art minimally invasive equipment—including 3D integrated ORs, 4K/fluorescence/single-port laparoscopes, choledochoscopes, intraoperative ultrasound, BiClamp, ultrasonic scalpels, and nerve monitoring systems—to deliver high-quality, safe surgical care across all subspecialties in line with international standards. Comprehensive ERAS protocols and postoperative thrombosis prevention are thoroughly implemented to ensure optimal patient-centered rehabilitation.

Surgical Excellence — Minimally Invasive

The department specializes in single-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy, ICG fluorescence-guided precision hepatectomy, highly complex liver resection, and standardized individualized minimally invasive radical resection for gastrointestinal tumors.

Natural Therapies for Postoperative Recovery

We provide individualized postoperative rehabilitation based on each patient’s constitution and condition, integrating TCM herbal medicine with ozone therapy, deep heat therapy, and detoxification therapy to relieve pain, support wound healing, restore gastrointestinal function, and ease perioperative stress. Psychological support, sleep management, music therapy, Tai Chi, and Baduanjin are also incorporated to promote overall functional recovery, improve rehabilitation outcomes, and enhance quality of life.
