Orthopedics Center

Orthopedics Center

Orthopedics Center delivers a wide range of care services across Trauma, Spinal Surgery, Arthroplasty, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation Care.
Our services span all age groups, benefiting patients from infants and young children to the elderly.
We provide full-cycle, closed-loop care for orthopedic conditions such as trauma, degenerative diseases, and deformities.

Spinal & Joint Alignment, Mobility Restored

The Orthopedics Center integrates Western & Chinese medicine and Natural Therapies for comprehensive musculoskeletal care. Through a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach, we offer a full spectrum of services—from conservative management and minimally invasive surgery to complex reconstruction—across three specialties: spinal disorders, joint and sports injuries, and trauma. Our surgical techniques are recognized as regional leaders. Collaborating with major provincial tertiary hospitals and combining TCM expertise with advanced modern technology, the center is a distinctive hub for integrated clinical care, education, and research.

Featured Technical Directions

Spinal Disorders

Specializing in unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE) spine surgery, the department also performs open procedures including osteotomy for deformity correction and excision of spinal tumors or tuberculous lesions. This forms a full surgical spectrum from routine minimally invasive to complex open spine surgeries.

Joint and Sports Injuries

Our department offers a full-step treatment system, ranging from conservative care to surgical reconstruction. Services include artificial joint replacement, joint-preserving procedures (unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and high tibial osteotomy), arthroscopic repairs of ligaments, meniscus, and rotator cuff, as well as PRP-based non-surgical regenerative therapy.

Trauma Care

Focusing on MIPPO, the department implements ERAS protocols and standardized rapid recovery pathways to minimize complications, with a dedicated fast-track program for elderly fracture patients to enable early postoperative ambulation.

TCM & Natural Therapies

We integrate Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and natural therapies into preoperative, postoperative, and rehabilitation care for hip fractures, spinal fractures, and degenerative spinal conditions. Individualized TCM rehabilitation plans are tailored to each patient’s constitution and condition, combining herbal therapies, acupuncture, Tuina, moxibustion, and external therapies such as ozone therapy, deep heat therapy, and detoxification therapy. Psychological support, sleep management, music therapy, Tai Chi, and Baduanjin may also be incorporated to relieve pain, support fracture healing, restore physical function, and promote comprehensive recovery.

Core Strengths of the Department

Minimally Invasive. Maximally Precise.

The department has built a minimally invasive care system addressing spine & joint disorders, trauma, and other conditions by utilizing minimally invasive techniques such as UBE biportal spinal endoscopy, arthroscopy, minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis(MIPPO), and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) regenerative tissue repair. A number of highly complex minimally invasive techniques have been clinically introduced and performed, continuously driving disciplinary development.

Function-Preserving Treatment

For conditions such as osteoarthritis and degenerative spine disease, the department has established a complete care continuum ranging from conservative therapy and minimally invasive procedures to open surgery and TCM-based rehabilitation. The center provides individualized treatment plans for patients according to their age, disease course and functional needs, prioritizing care options with less trauma and faster recovery while relieving symptoms and preserving and restoring function.

ERAS Rapid Recovery for Elderly Fracture Care

The concept of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery(ERAS) is integrated throughout the perioperative process, including preoperative optimization, minimally invasive intraoperative procedures, postoperative multimodal analgesia, and early mobilization, forming a standardized rehabilitation pathway. A fast-track pathway is available for elderly patients with fractures, enabling rapid admission and timely surgery to help geriatric patients regain mobility as early as possible.

Integrative Care. Closed-Loop.

Modern surgical techniques are effectively integrated with TCM-based rehabilitative therapies to establish a closed-loop care system of “preoperative care — precision surgery — postoperative rehabilitation." The integrative Chinese-Western medicine approach is applied throughout the entire continuum of care, providing patients with access to continuous, holistic, personalized and high-quality orthopedic care.
